Power
There are numerous types of forklifts which are operated by propane gas. Forklifts which use propane are very simple to refill. The gas is stored inside a pressurized tank on the rear of the truck. The propane is pushed into the engine, where it is converted into vapor and then the vapor mixes with air. The forklift throttle is utilized to control the vapor flow. A spark plug ignites the mixture of air and vapor creating pressure that makes the pistons move. The pistons turn the wheels and power the hydraulic pump.
Propane powered forklifts are recommended for use within other buildings and warehouses because they are clean burning with low emissions.
Hydraulics
What enables a forklift to raise and transport heavy objects from one place to another is the hydraulic system. Cylinders, a pump and tubes make up the hydraulic system. The pump forces dense fluid in the tubing and into the cylinders. The pressure build up pushes a piston, which lifts the forks. When the forks are lowered by the operator, the hydraulic fluid flows out of the cylinders and back in the pump.
Steering
Where maneuverability is required, propane forklifts are the most suitable. Unlike a car, a forklift utilizes its rear wheels to pivot, that allows the forklift to quickly turn on a tight radius.

Size
Forklifts could raise really heavy objects since they have a counterweight on the back of the lift truck. The huge counterweight provides balance to the lift truck so the machine doesn't tip over when raising heavy cargo. Forklifts are rated based on their load capacity. A small lift truck that could carry 1800 kilograms weighs roughly 4000 kilograms, which...

Does Cold Temperature Really Affect a Propane Tank Level Gauge?
Propane is similar to nearly all other types of materials in that it is affected by cold temperatures. The propane gas contracts when the temperature does down. That reduced level of gas in the tank is reflected by the gauge that reflects the tank level. Normally, this occurs whenever a...
